Baltic Afternoon at Ocee Park – Saturday, May 12, 2018

You are cordially invited to join Atlanta Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, their families and friends for a relaxed afternoon at Ocee Park in John’s Creek, on Saturday, May 12th, from 3:00 to 6:30 pm.  This event is free of charge.

Our main activity will be Beach Volleyball…and we look forward to having all three Baltic “national teams” engage in a friendly match on the sand courts.  There are also basketball and tennis courts and a running track, a picnic shelter and a kids’ playground.  Children can also kick the soccer ball around, ride bicycles, roller-blade or skateboard.  We are counting on everyone having a great time…including your cats and dogs, if you choose to bring them along.  😊

There will be no organized food or reserved tables while at Ocee Park.  Bring your own snacks and refreshments, if you’d like.  We recommend that you bring your own folding chairs.

Park your car near the children’s playground at the front of the park.  We will meet at the sand volleyball courts, which are located on the far-left side of the park.

At about 6:30 pm, we’re planning to go out to dinner and/or drinks at Marlow’s Tavern, 3719 Old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30022. Please let us know either in advance or at the event if you’re planning to join us, as larger groups require reservations.

For members of the Atlanta Lithuanian-American Community: elections of the National Board of Directors of LAC will be held nationally in all states from May 1st until 15th. If you have not registered to vote online, there will be an opportunity for you to vote at Ocee Park, where paper ballots will be available.

Lietuviškos Mišios ir Kūčių vakarienė / Lithuanian Mass and Christmas Eve Dinner

Artėja pati gražiausia žiemos šventė – Šv. Kalėdos.

Kviečiame visus į Šv. Mišias Šv. Onos bažnyčioje (St. Ann’s Church, 4905 Roswell Rd., Marietta GA 30062) gruodžio 9 d. 14:00 val., kurias aukos kunigas Gintaras Jonikas. Išpažintys bus klausomos nuo 13:00 val.

Po mišių visus kviečiame Šv. Kūčių vakarui į Nollan Hall salę toje pačioje bažnyčioje (planuojame apie 16:00 val.).

„Saulės“ mokyklos vaikų pasirodymas bus 16:30 val., po jo – ALB 2017 metų apdovanojimai ir Atlantos tautinių šokių grupės „Jievaras“ pasirodymas. Visus kviesime bendrai Kūčių vakarienei po šventinės dalies. Prašome atsinešti po lėkštę maisto bendram stalui.

Christmas, the most beautiful holiday of the winter season, is quickly approaching.

The Lithuanian-American Community of Atlanta invites you to join us on Saturday, December 9, 2016 for Holy Mass and a traditional Christmas Eve Celebration at St. Ann’s Church (4905 Roswell Rd., Marietta, GA 30062).

Father Gintaras Jonikas will celebrate Mass at 2:00 pm, following half an hour of traditional Christmas caroling led by members of our community beginning at 1:30 pm.  Fr. Jonikas will also hear confession starting at 1:00 pm.

Our traditional Lithuanian Christmas Eve celebration will take place at St. Ann’s Nolan Hall, adjacent to the church. Doors open at 4:00 pm.  The program will begin at 4:30 pm, with a special presentation by the children of our Lithuanian School “Saulė”, followed by a presentation of the ALAC 2017 awards and a performance by Atlanta’s Lithuanian Folk Dance Ensemble, “Jievaras.”

After the program, a traditional Christmas Eve dinner will be served.  Please bring a dish to share.

Tickets in advance: free for children under 6, $5 for guests between 6 and 18 years of age, $20 – adults. Tickets at the door:  $10 – 6 to 18 years, $25 – adults. Advance tickets are available at www.lietuviaiatlantoje.org „Donate“ section.

Rumor has it that Santa will be making an appearance after dinner, so if there are little ones in your group, please bring one symbolic gift per child so he/she can receive it along with all the other kids. Make sure to tag it with the first and last name of the child.

Juditos Leitaitės koncertas ir labdaringas kugelio balius

Šių metų lapkričio 18d. 18val. kviečiame į jau tradicija tapusį Labdaringą Kugelio balių, kurį praturtins solistė iš Lietuvos Judita Leitaitė (mezzo-soprano). Ji yra viena aktyviausių ir ryškiausių Lietuvos kamerinės muzikos atlikėjų.

Renginys vyks City of Light salėje (3125 Presidential Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30340).

18 val. ragausim šeimininkių iškepto kugelio, veiks mokamas baras. Pirkdami lėkštę šio tradicinio lietuviško patiekalo už $10, Jūs paremsite Lietuvoje esantį Šakių vaikų dienos centrą.

19:30 val. Judita Leitaitė pristatys programą “Lapų valsas”, kurioje dalyvaus ir smuikininkė Paulina Daukšytė. Taip pat keletą kūrinių akomponuos pianistas Eduardo Bernardi, grojantis lietuviškų mišių metu. Šioje programoje išgirsime mėgstamų klasikinių kūrinių, nuostabių ir širdžiai mielų lietuviškų dainų. Tai bus tikra atgaiva mūsų skubančioje kasdienybėje…

Judita Leitaitė’s Concert and “Kugelis” Fundraising Festival

You are cordially invited to join us at our community’s Annual “Kugelis” Fundraising Festival, featuring renown Lithuanian mezzo soprano, Judita Leitatė.

The celebration will take place on November 18th at City of Light Center, 3125 Presidential Pkwy., Atlanta, GA  30340.

6pm – Dinner:  Delicious homemade kugelis and sides are available for a contribution of $10 per plate.  Proceeds will help support the Children’s Day Center in Šakai, Lithuania.

7:30pm – Concert: Judita Leitaitė will present a program entitled “Waltz of Leaves,” featuring timless classical works and beloved traditional Lithuanian songs. Violinist Paulina Dauksytė and pianist Eduardo Bernardi will accompany Ms. Leitaitė.

Concert tickets may be purchased in advance here through November 13th ($15 for adults, $5 for children). Click on “Donate” on the right.  At the door, $22 for adults and $5 for children.

We have arranged for a babysitter to look after children your children (4 years old and older) during the concert.  Please bring games, coloring books, etc. for your children.  Children are also welcome at the concert, but must be under strict parent supervision.
